Different Types of Paper Cups
Savvy food service business owners know that offering a delicious cup of coffee is just the beginning. The packaging it’s served in is crucial. Even the best coffee, if served in an uncomfortable and hand-burning cup, won't deliver the desired experience. While disposable cups may seem identical at first glance, and many assume they can be used for any beverage, this is far from true.
Paper cups come in various types: single-layer and double-layer. Single-layer cups can be designed for cold or hot drinks (as we discussed in our previous post). Additionally, there are corrugated and ribbed paper cups specifically designed for hot beverages.
Corrugated (ribbed) paper cups for hot drinks are made with at least two layers of cardboard, with the outer layer crafted from corrugated paper. These cups are the most comfortable for hot beverages because your hands only touch the raised parts of the paper, not the entire surface. The temperature of the tea inside is hardly felt by the hands, but the double-layered cardboard keeps the liquid warm.
